Starting November 2008, Visitor Comments (VC) feature is added to most of the pages.

What is VC? It is basically a module that enable you to post your comment in one of this website’s page. The comment that you posted will be displayed for that specific page only, so it has unique database for each page.

True, this is blog-like feature. I originally considered to convert this whole website to a blog system. After evaluating some of the free blog templates available, I decided that converting the whole website to a blog engine while keeping this website’s unique design is too much trouble.

Then I got an idea. If what I want is simply for visitors to be able to post their comments, why not doing it by a simple php?
So I started to make some php codes myself, doing a lot of testing and solve some errors, and here it is… the new feature, ready to be used. Hopefully you can benefit well from this feature.

It took me only 2 hours to do the code, but it took me 4 hours to find the source of a very annoying bug ! Damn, that surely wasted my beautiful Sunday evening. Anyway, if you find this website interesting, please take a bit of time to sign my guestbook as well.

Thank you !

Monday, 27 April 2009. I just found out that VC is bugged after the last website update. Problem is fixed now. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Tuesday, 2 Feb 2010. I realized something strange this morning. No one is ever posting anything in my website since September 2009, yet the visitor count and Google Analytics show that the number of visitors every day is stable. Then I found out the problem. In September 2009 my hosting company upgraded the PHP engine to PHP5 (which is a good thing), resulting my spam prevention image no longer working as expected (compatibility issue or something, I’m not sure).
No one is able to type in the word in the picture, therefore no one can post anything. This applies to Visitor Comments (VC) modules and Guestbook module.
Today I changed the engine for spam prevention. Thanks for reCAPTCHA for their excellent free engine. Things should work normally now, though I lost all comments and feedbacks from my visitors for about 5 months ! I should have realized this sooner, sigh =(

Friday, 1 June, 2012. All commenting systems are migrated to Disqus. VC module is no longer used.
