iOS 7.1 is finally here. I have installed this new version of iOS this morning and here is a list of new things I can find:

1. The monthly view of Calendar app finally becomes usable again ! After iOS7 turned monthly view completely useless by removing the bottom list of entries of selected date, we have it back now.

2. List View in Calendar app is also back ! To go to list view, you need to go to daily view, then an List View icon will appear next to search icon.

3. Still about Calendar app, in some countries the calendar will show the country’s holidays.

4. New HDR Auto mode in Camera app. This will automatically chooses the best photo from your HDR snap.

5. Option to upload Burst Photos to Photo Stream.

6. Modified interface when receiving phone calls.

7. Modified interface when making calls using Keypad screen.

8. Modified interface when turning off the device.

9. Added bounce animation when accessing Control Center (not that this matters though).

10. Faster animation. If you haven’t turned on “Reduced Motion” in Accessibility setting, iOS 7.1 will bring you faster animation. Since I have turned on Reduced Motion, it has no effect to me.

11. New Accessibility options: Increase Contrast where we can choose to reduce transparency or darken colors or reduce white point (this will make the screen a bit dull).

12. New Accessibility option: Button Shape. Turning on this option will show actual “button” interface on iOS7-style interface which generally flatten everything.

13. Option to disable Parallax effect when setting wallpaper for home screen.

14. Indicators for Shuffle and Repeat in Music app finally becomes readable.

15. Slightly different keyboard colors.

16. Slightly darker icons for some default apps.

17. According to Apple, this update will bring better performance for iPhone 4. I am unable to test this as I no longer have iPhone 4.

18. Touch ID & Passcode becomes root level Settings.

19. Modified interface of lock screen.

20. Improvements on Siri (new voices, new hold-to-speak).

21. Safari’s unified address bar’s placeholder text now says “Search web or enter site name” instead of “Search or enter an address.”

22. iTunes Radio: “New” button added to create a new station.

23. FaceTime call notifications are automatically cleared when we answer a call on another device.

24. Minor interface change in Weather app.

25. New CarPlay feature. I can’t test this feature for obvious reason.

26. Supposedly this update fixes the annoying “White Screen of Death”, but we shall see whether it’s actually fixed or not.
