It started with a simple idea to automate a few things in my garage. I soon realised that most of smart power plugs have wide body I cannot put anything in the next plug. Since I am looking for Homekit-compatible device with AU plug, my pool of choices got even smaller. It was during my search I discovered that Cygnett has exactly the produce I was looking for. It allows me to control 4 plugs individually without the bulk of most smart plugs.

Cygnett Smart Wi-Fi 4-Way Power Board is, as the name suggests, a power board with 4 plugs, connects to Wifi, and is compatible with Apple Homekit, Google Home and Amazon Alexa. On top of the 4 plugs, this power board comes with 2 USB ports for charging. Unfortunately these ports are always on, there is no way to turn it off from Homekit or any app.

Even though Cygnett does have an app for this power board, using the app is completely optional because I can directly connect the powerboard to Homekit using Home app. I did connect the device to Cygnett Smart app for the first time to get initial firmware update. After that, I always use Apple’s Home app.

In Apple Home app, this Cygnett power board can appear as single tile, or each plug can appear as individual tiles. I choose to show each plug as individual tiles because I am able to set just one of them as favourite. Not every smart plug needs frequent manual on/off anyway.

Connection is stable and there is no issue with functionality. It makes an audible clicking sound when turning on or off, but it is quite normal for most other smart plugs. If there is any complain, is the fact that the physical on/off button is located at the top right next to USB ports. I have accidentally pressed it more than 3 times.

Solid product, does what it promises, no issue so far. Getting myself another unit after the first successful trial.
