web-design-responsive

Today I implemented a new website design using a popular WordPress there called Avada. It has built-in responsive design and tons of cool features. Now this website will look good in desktop computers, laptops, smartphones and tablet computers. One seamless design works across those devices, ensuring consistency for every device. If your device supports HiDPI or retina display, most images in this website will look great with high density pixels.

Wait, hadn’t support for mobile devices been added few months go? In March 2014, I added a featured that will display different layout when this website is accessed through smartphone or tablet devices. Unfortunately, in doing so, I have to manage separate sets of design because my primary theme for desktop design did not have responsive capability. A responsive theme means a theme will automatically adjust its layout according to the screen resolution of the device being used to access it. It means, I only need to have 1 theme, 1 layout to maintain, and it will automatically adjust to whatever device as necessary.

Together with the implementation of the new theme, I also changed the standard size for images in this website. If it’s just theme change, I would expect that every content should immediately work fine under the new design. But this image size change requires more work from my side. I changed the standard size into a bigger resolution. It means I would need to re-upload most of the images. I predict it would take me few weeks to get everything done. Meanwhile, you might find some images in some pages could not appear properly during the transition period.
